30 footballers and referees, 8 coaches, 7 football club managers and 2 football club administration employees - a total of 77 persons were found to have been involved in match-fixing in Uzbekistan In 2019-2023, and appropriate measures were taken against them.
According to UzA, criminal liability is envisaged to be added in the Criminal Code in order to prevent such wrongdoing.
Addenda to the Criminal Code, aimed at preventing corruption in sports, which includes these steps are currently being reviewed by the lower house of the parliament.
