Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovations Kungirotboy Sharipov met with the French Ambassador Aurélia Bouchez, the Ministry said.
The parties discussed cooperation between the two countries in the field of higher education, professional education, science and innovation, as well as the steps being taken to further enhance the bilateral ties.
They also considered the opening of an Uzbek-French University in Tashkent, the opening of preparatory courses of the university from September of this year, drafting and approval of curricula, educational programs, and engaging of professors and teachers.
They also exchanged opinions on the organization of internships for teachers of professional educational institutions in France, further improvement of programs for teaching the French language to students, and improvement of qualifications of French language teachers.
The parties touched upon the preparations for the Uzbek-French rectors' forum, which will take place in Tashkent in October of this year.
