The Center for Safety of Pharmaceutical Products under the Ministry of Health banned the sale and storage of 19 drugs for weight loss, which are sold online.

A study over these drugs, imported into Uzbekistan illegally and seized by law enforcement agencies, found that they contained sibutramine. This is an anorexigenic drug, an amphetamine-type drug, a psychostimulant that reduces appetite and increases the feeling of satiety. In Uzbekistan, sibutramine is included in the list of potent substances.
The above 19 drugs are not registered in Uzbekistan as medicines (they are not included in the State Register of Medicines and Medical Devices).
