Funded by the European Union BOMCA 10 Programme officially handed over ICT and communications equipment to the Customs Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Committee of Veterinary and Livestock Development and Agency of Plant Protection and Quarantine under the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan.
On February 20, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia officially handed over ICT and communications equipment to the Customs Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Committee of Veterinary and Livestock Development and Agency of Plant Protection and Quarantine under the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan. The total value of the transferred equipment amounted to 54,496.91 EUR.
Specifically, the Customs Committee received 150 sets of portable internet radio. This equipment will be used to provide real-time communication with remote customs points and ensure the prompt exchange of information, therefore increase operational capabilities of the customs service.
Committee of Veterinary and Livestock Development received an interactive panel to ensure distance learning, training and retraining process of veterinary specialists working at BCPs.
These assets were purchased in the framework of the Programme Component 3 “Facilitation of trade” and specifically aimed at improving customs, phyto-sanitary and veterinary checks.
