The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has accepted the invitation of Russian president Vladimir Putin and will pay a working visit to Kazan today to attend the opening ceremony of the Future Games.

The program of stay includes bilateral meeting of the two leaders, during which they are expected to discuss the implementation of the highest-level agreements at the official visit to Russia on October 5-7, 2023, as well as the ways to further expand the comprehensive strategic partnership ties.

Future Games are competitions that combine classical sports, scientific developments and digital technologies. They will take place in Russia for the first time from February 21 to March 3. The President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov and heads of other states are expected to attend the opening ceremony games.

227 teams from 107 countries, including from Uzbekistan, will take part in the competitions.
