The Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev hosted the Foreign Minister of Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov. Greeting the minister Saidov, President Tokayev commended the high upward trend of the Kazakh-Uzbek ties. According to him, Kazakhstan attached priority to further advancing the ties with brotherly Uzbekistan.
Emphasizing the significant contribution of the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to deepening bilateral relations, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed Kazakhstan’s readiness to continue to support Uzbekistan’s initiatives for the sake of the well-being and prosperity of the peoples of the region.
During the meeting, issues of expanding trade and economic cooperation were discussed, the importance of finding new points of growth and increasing the volume of trade turnover between the two countries was emphasized.
The Kazakhstan President called it important to strengthen cooperation in the transit and transport sector. He said that Kazakhstan has begun construction of the Darbaza-Maktaraal railway line with subsequent access to the border with Uzbekistan, which will help increase the volume of cargo transportation.
He also drew attention to the mutually beneficial nature of the participation of the Uzbek side in the development of the Trans-Caspian international transport route.
In turn, Bakhtiyor Saidov thanked the Kazakh leader for the warm welcome and conveyed to him the best wishes of the Uzbek leader.
According to the minister Saidov, the two leaders have set a high bar for strengthening alliance ties between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. In this regard, Bakhtiyor Saidov shared plans for joint work to ensure the high-quality implementation of previously reached agreements at the highest level.
