Today the Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov hosted the newly designated Ambassador of Pakistan, Irfan Yusuf Shami.
The minister accepted a copy of the Ambassador's credentials, the Foreign Ministry reported.
The sides reportedly discussed the state of Uzbek-Pakistani relations, cooperation in the political and security areas with a view of the full membership of Pakistan in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and touched upon the ways for deepening ties in the trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian areas.
The sides both favored the setting up of a "road map", which shall include steps aimed at boosting contacts between Uzbek and Pakistani businesses.
