The 2024-2026 action plan of the Public Health-2030 National Strategy includes an item on provision of specialized high-tech medical care in terms of diagnosis, treatment, prevention and rehabilitation in all areas of pediatrics, including the development of areas such as neurosurgery, cardiosurgery, otorhinolaryngology, ophthalmology and orthopedics in children's surgery.
Reportedly, up to 3 thousand children will be operated on for congenital heart defects and pathological changes in the brain (including hydrocephalus).
Every year, at least 110 children will be operated on for scoliosis and other spine pathologies using transpedicular system (fixators) kits.
The item also aims to introduce the practice of bone marrow transplantation and to prevent infectious diseases managed by preventive vaccination of children under 5 years of age based on the national vaccination calendar.
While, 4.9 million children under the age of 5 will be fully vaccinated.
