The president’s Envoy for Afghanistan Ismatulla Ergashev met with Asif Durrani, the Pakistani PM’s Envoy for Afghanistan on Tuesday.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the counterparts exchanged views on the current situation in Afghanistan, the international community and the efforts of the two countries aimed at expanding cooperation in Afghanistan.
Also, they touched upon transport and communication projects implemented in Afghanistan, in particular, the Termiz-Mazari Sharif-Kabul-Peshawar railway project. Asif Durrani emphasized that this project was important for the implementation of the concept of regional interconnectivity.
The parties expressed mutual interest in elaborating joint efforts to address the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, as well as to promote Afghanistan’s peaceful development.
