Tashkent city mayor's office is developing a comprehensive plan of measures to improve the environmental situation in Tashkent city, the office said in a statement.
In recent days, the environmental situation in the capital is deteriorating, and air pollution levels is rising.
Reportedly, the plan of measures includes ensuring environmental stability, reducing household waste, improving the public transport system both qualitatively and quantitatively, creating an infrastructure aimed at giving priority to pedestrians, and then to public transport, on the roads. a number of changes are planned.
"In order to improve the environmental situation and protect public health, it is necessary to take some drastic decisions. Therefore, these decisions should be based on scientific research and analysis so that they do not cause negative consequences in the future.
It is reported that currently working groups are working under the mayor's office in each area, involving local and foreign experts. Based on the analytical conclusions of each working group, a presentation is being prepared on the practical measures to be taken at the scale of the capital.
"Soon, this presentation will be brought to the attention of the general public," the statement concluded.
