Talks took place at Highways Committee with executives of Saudi-based Al Bawani and Sajco companies. They discussed the 38-km length Syrdarya-Bakht bypass road project on M39 Tashkent-Termez highway.
According to the committee, foreign partners visited Syrdarya and got acquainted with the project of the facility. “The study of local infrastructure is important for the implementation of this project,” the statement said.
Committee spokeswoman Nilufar Jumaeva said that this project had not yet been developed and it is unknown which company will implement it. They say that 4-5 more companies are interested in road construction.
“The project will be developed and it will be reviewed at the government level. There are 4-5 more foreign partners who are also interested in this road. Each of them will present their project, which must then be approved. Afterwards, they must participate in the tender. Nothing is clear yet, this was the first meeting with them,” she said.
Executives of these Saudi Arabian companies also arrived in Uzbekistan in August last year, when they expressed interest in investing in the road construction industry at the Ministry of Transport.
