Maiden meeting of the railway authorities of the countries-stakeholders in the Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Turkey multimodal transport corridor took place in Istanbul.
According to Uzbekistan Railways, the parties discussed important aspects of the development of this transport route.
The parties agreed that setting low and competitive prices for transport on this route will help increase the volume of goods and cargo transportation.
During the meeting, the relevant MoM was signed between the railway authorities. The document is an important step in the development of the transport corridor, which reinforces the agreement of all parties for cooperation and joint efforts for the successful implementation of this project.
Within the framework of the 12th meeting of transport ministers of the member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization, a MoM on creation of the Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Turkey transport corridor was signed. This corridor is an important factor in the development of transport infrastructure and trade ties between the countries of the region.
