On December 28, blogger Olimjon Khaidarov’s appeal was reviewed by the criminal panel of the Fergana provincial court. According to the spokesman to the Supreme Court, the Dec. 1, 2023 ruling of the Fergana District Court has been upheld, and the appeal was not satisfied.
Earlier on December 1, the Fergana district criminal court announced the verdict in the criminal case against blogger and social activist Olimjon Khaidarov.
He was found guilty of committing crimes under Insult and Extortion charges of the Criminal Code. He was sentenced to 8 years in prison to be served in a general prison.
