On the sidelines of the ICAO-owned ICAN-2023 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, a meeting was organized between the aviation authorities of Uzbekistan and Bangladesh.
The final text of the agreement on air service between the two countries was agreed at the meeting. According to it, it is envisaged that the "royalty" fee collected by Bangladesh authorities for each passenger, cargo and baggage during flights from Uzbekistan to Bangladesh shall be scrapped.
Note: Uzbekistan Airways had been operating Tashkent to Dhaka flights since 1998, but by 2007, the flight was temporarily suspended.
