President Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressed the participants of the international conference: Jadids: Ideas of National Identity, Independence and Statehood in Tashkent.
At the opening of the conference, the address of the head of state was read out by the presidential adviser/speechwriter Khayriddin Sultanov.
At the beginning of the address, the president congratulated the participants of the event on the opening of the international conference dedicated to the Jadidist movement. Shavkat Mirziyoev noted that this movement, formed at the beginning of the last century, left a deep mark in the history of not only the Central Asian region, but also the entire Muslim world and the Turkic world.
"It is our priority to deeply research and promote the exemplary activities of our enlightened ancestors, which make up the bright pages of our common history, and their rich heritage, which still continues without losing its value and importance, together with representatives of partner countries and international organizations, as well as famous foreign scientists.
To the leaders and representatives of prestigious international organizations who visited our conference today, as well as to famous scientists and experts from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, the Russian Federation, Hungary, the USA, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Japan and other countries that organized this conference I sincerely thank you for supporting our initiative," said the president.
According to the head of state, although many studies on the formation and development of the idea of modernism, which is a unique socio-political phenomenon, have been created in a number of countries of the world, the great contribution of the representatives of this movement to national statehood and regional identity, and the development of civil society in the territory of Central Asia has not been conceptually and systematically further study remains an urgent issue.
"From this point of view, it is aimed to research and systematize the advanced ideas and views of our progressive ancestors, to study the role and influence of Turkestan moderns in the development of national statehood, to analyze the legal basis of the state structures established by them in the first quarter of the 20th century, to build a secular, legal and democratic society. it is of particular importance that matters related to the historical evaluation of the activities of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the fact that this heritage serves as a solid foundation for the creation of New Uzbekistan and the Third Renaissance are the main topics of discussion at today's conference.
It is clear to all of us that our ancestors, who took the stage with the noble idea of "Unity in language, thought, and work", believed that the main way to get our people out of ignorance and backwardness, to save them from the mire of ignorance, is in knowledge and enlightenment, in gaining worldly progress.
They showed self-sacrifice in this way and opened new method schools, theaters and libraries, publishing houses. Newspapers and magazines were published in order to change the outlook and lifestyle of the members of society. Young people were sent to study in advanced countries.
Meanwhile, they carried out ideological and practical efforts to fundamentally reform the state administration, judiciary, finance, tax systems, and land issues on a gradual basis. In a word, they mobilized all their strength and capabilities to realize the idea of national revival and national development.
"Unfortunately, the existing situation and social system at that time did not allow the realization of these ambitious goals," Shavkat Mirziyoev said in his address.
