President Shavkat Mirziyoyev went on a short-term vacation from December 4, his spokesman Sherzod Asadov said. The previous time the head of state went on short-term vacation was in January 2022. It started on January 5th and ended on the 7th. Later, Sherzod Asadov explained his early return by the difficult situation in neighboring Kazakhstan.
“As soon as events began in Kazakhstan, our president spoke with the leaders of the three countries and discussed with them the situation in the region. For the president, the peace and security of our people come first; he is always with the people. The head of state returned early from vacation because he is a supporter of peace in Kazakhstan,” he said then in the Menimcha program.
In 2021, the president's vacation lasted seven days, from January 4 to January 10.
