Cameras began recording violations on bus-only lanes in Tashkent city on December 1, the Road Safety Service said in a statement.
Drivers of cars who stop, move, interfere with the movement on bus-only lane, and also leave vehicles there started getting fines, the traffic police said. According to the clause 132 of the traffic rules, drivers can enter the “bus-only lane” only in two cases: when turning right (in the part of the road where the broken marking line is drawn) and for boarding and disembarking passengers.
The fine amount for driving on bus-only lane is 0.5 basic calculated values (170 thousand soums), stopping on the lane is 2 BCVs (680 thousand soums).
It was reported in October that the city has 44 km of such lanes, along which 16 thousand bus trips are made daily.
