Today, president Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on amendments to a number of documents to improve the efficiency of the activities of internal affairs bodies, the Ministry of Justice said.

In particular, photo and video cameras will be erected near schools along roads, at pedestrian crossings with four lanes or more, and in areas of frequent accidents to record violations related to speeding, ignoring pedestrians, and crossing the road in the wrong place.

Cameras installation shall be borne by the Republican Safe Road and Safe Pedestrian Fund.

Please note that the fund's sources of income are fines for traffic violations (5%), fines recorded by cameras (25%), fees for obtaining permits to install tinting (20%), fines for violation of traffic rules recorded by video recorders (100%) , proceeds from the sale of state license plates for cars at an increased rate (50%).

As previously reported that cameras recording traffic violations in Uzbekistan now also record unfastened seat belts. As per the traffic rules, both the driver and front seat passengers are required to wear seat belts, but a fine for passengers has not been introduced after a year and a half.
