President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was in Boysun district of Surkhondarya province and got acquainted with the progress of 25th Anniversary of Independence Gas-Chemical Complex project.
The project cost, which is implemented by the foreign enterprise Surhan Gas Chemical Operating Company, is at US$ 2.9 billion. The complex will have the capacity to extract and process 5 billion cubic meters of gas per year. So far, 1 billion 450 million dollars have been invested in the development of the mine, and drilling work has been completed in 20 wells. 11 gas wells have been successfully tested. While the foundation works and metal structures is nearly completed.
The projects and construction of the plant are based on the licensed technologies of the Shell company. It meets the most advanced environmental requirements and has the ability to neutralize 99 percent of harmful waste from production. Such equipment is being installed at this plant for the first time in the CIS countries.
