Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan plan to export green energy to Europe, the Kazakh Ministry of Energy said today. Reportedly, the countries agreed to prepare technical specifications and set up a joint venture for the green energy exports.

The relevant agreement was reached at a meeting of the ministers of energy and economy of Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in Baku dedicated to discussion of the prospects for exporting electricity from Central Asian countries to Europe via Azerbaijan.

Following the meeting, the heads of departments signed a joint communiqué, in which they noted the countries’ potential in the field of renewable energy and their readiness to join the project of exporting electricity from alternative sources to Europe.
