State Security Service officers caught red-handedly a deputy district prosecutor and an investigator in Andijan, and an assistant prosecutor in Samarkand.
Investigator of Khojaabad district prosecutor's office of Andijan province demanded $5,000 in return for not applying a preventive measure in the form of arrest and assistance during the investigation against a suspect in a criminal case launched by the investigative department of the district police department under Fraud charge and Manufacture, forgery of documents, stamps, seals, forms, their sale or use charge of the Criminal Code.
In an operation conducted by state security officers together with provincial prosecutor's office, the investigator was detained with evidence while receiving the requested funds.
Based on this fact, the provincial prosecutor's office opened a criminal case under Fraud charge and the Bribery charge of the Criminal Code.
The investigation found that the investigator had been instructed by the deputy district prosecutor to receive the cash, who was also arrested.
Assistant prosecutor of Pastdargom district of Samarkand province demanded $3,000 from the relatives of an accused involved in a criminal case being investigated by the investigative department of the police department in exchange for assistance in the trial and release from custody.
During an operation carried out by state security officers in Samarkand, the assistant prosecutor was detained with evidence while receiving $2,500 of the requested amount.
Currently, the provincial prosecutor's office has opened a criminal case against the official under Articles 168 and 211 of the Criminal Code, and he has been taken into custody.
