This does not take into account last year’s gas balances. It should be noted that the capacity of the Khojaabad UGS is 900 million cubic meters, and the Gazli gas storage facility is 3 BCM.

According to her, as part of the project to increase the volume of active gas storage, 5 wells were drilled in the Khojaabad underground gas storage facility.

Shakhnoza Ravshanova added that the pump-out has not yet begun due to favorable weather conditions, the injection continues.

On September 11, Energy Minister Zhurabek Mirzamakhmudov said that, taking into account last year’s balances, about 3 BCM of gas had been accumulated at the Gazli and Khojaabad gas storage facilities by that time.

He then underscored that it was planned to pump in 3.2 BCM of gas and added that by the end of the year it was planned to expand the capacity of Gazli to 4.5 BCM, and in the future - to 10 BCM.
