President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has accepted the invitation of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and will pay a working visit to Astana on November 2-3, where he will attend the next Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).
The agenda of the summit includes the ways to advance multilateral cooperation within the framework of the OTS, primarily in trade, economic, investment, transport and communications, environmental, cultural, humanitarian and other areas.
It is expected that the OTS intends to approve a joint civil protection mechanism “to create a joint capacity to respond to natural disasters, to meet urgent needs in disasters and emergency situations that may arise in the territories of the member-states.”
This year Uzbekistan chairs the Organization of Turkic States, and after the meeting the chairmanship will pass to Kazakhstan.
Members of the organization are Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey, observers are Hungary and Turkmenistan.
