Opening ceremony of the honorary consulate of Uzbekistan took place in the capital of Latvia, Riga on October 27, Dunyo reported.
The ceremony was attended by the Uzbek Ambassador to Latvia Kadambay Sultanov, Under-Secretary of State and Political Director of the Foreign Ministry of Latvia, Andžejs Viļumsons, as well as representatives of government agencies, public and businesses.
The chief of Uzbekistan trading house in Riga, the founder and CEO of Outdoor Media, Vladimir Galperin has been appointed honorary consul. During the ceremony, he was awarded the consular patent.
This is reportedly the first honorary consulate of Uzbekistan in the Baltic states.
