Officials of the Yandex Go online ride hailing service told how work is going on to become a tax resident in Uzbekistan on Wednesday.
“We work in accordance with the Uzbek legislation. We have already registered a legal entity in Uzbekistan and confirm that by December 1 we will localize the Yandex Go service in the country,” said Kirill Svintsov, the Director of Yandex Go for the CIS. - This means that the service will be provided from a local company, subject to payment of applicable taxes. Now we are setting up the processes.”
While also, according to Kirill Svintsov, the company is also in dialogue with the Tax Committee on the fiscalization of passenger ride hailing.
“We are the first platform in the country to begin collaborating with the Tax authorities in this area. This is a new process for the market, and we expect to jointly implement this task within a reasonable time frame,” he emphasized.
Earlier in September the Tax Committee demanded that Ridetech International, a company registered in the Netherlands, which represents the Yandex Go app, become a tax resident of Uzbekistan. In addition, the company was required to provide integration with the information system of tax authorities and provide customers with an automatically generated fiscal receipt. Otherwise, the committee intended to request blocking of the Yandex Go service in Uzbekistan.
