Ministry of defense repaired the MI-8MTV helicopter of the Kyrgyz Air Force and handed it back, the press service of the Defense ministry reported.
Specialists from both countries conducted test flights of the helicopter. “It is completely ready for operation,” the press service added.
The repair was carried out by the Chirchik aircraft repair plant in the Tashkent province.
According to him, in accordance with the agreement reached by the leaders of the two countries, in 2021, Uzbekistan offered Kyrgyzstan a MI-8MTV military helicopter for free.
After this, one of the same helicopters in the military aircraft fleet of Kyrgyzstan was handed over to the Chirchik Aviation Repair Plant in Uzbekistan for overhaul.
“The Ministry of Defense has taken full responsibility for carrying out repair work,” stated the Kyrgyz leader Sadyr Japarov.
Specialists from the Ministry of Defense of Kyrgyzstan received the helicopter and delivered it from Chirchik via Osh to Bishkek.
“All this, of course, became possible with the support and control of the President of Uzbekistan, the respected Shavkat Mirziyoyev. In this regard, I express my deep gratitude to Shavkat Mirziyoyev,” emphasized Sadyr Japarov.
