Toshkent Shahar Suv Taminoti (government entity responsible for cold, hot water sewer system for Tashkent city) unveiled plans to increase prices for cold water and sewer services in Tashkent.
Reportedly, the need to increase tariffs is due to sharp increase in costs to maintain the operation of the water supply and sewer system.
▫In particular, it proposed to set the 1,400 soums price of water for households, for sewer services - 1,000 soums per m3. For legal entities, it proposed a price of 3,000 soums of drinking water and 2,200 soums for sewerage services per cubic meter.
These prices were submitted to the People's Deputies council of Tashkent city for review.
“The offered prices for drinking water and sewerage services are still lower than their prices in the Tashkent province and other provinces,” the company emphasized.
The water supply operator intends to announce from what date the prices will rise after the council deputies discuss the proposed prices. While, a press conference will be convened for the media and bloggers.
As reported earlier, daily water consumption in Tashkent city stood at 400 liters per person.
