Meeting of energy ministers of Japan and Central Asian countries took place in mixed format as part of the Tokyo GX Week international week, Dunyo said.

The event was attended by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Yasutoshi Nishimura, the Minister of Energy Jurabek Mirzamahmudov (online), the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Almasadam Satkaliev (online), the Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Control of Kyrgyzstan Melis Turgunbaev, the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan Daler Juma, Minister of State of Turkmenistan/chairman of the Turkmengaz Maksat Babaev.

In his remarks, Jurabek Mirzamahmudov touched on the problem of the Aral tragedy and limited water resources in the country, noting that this issue was a regional problem. While, the adoption of the program for the green transition and green growth in Uzbekistan until 2030, and according to the program, it was planned to reduce the relative allocation of greenhouse gases per unit of GDP by 35% from the level of 2010, increasing the production capacity of renewable energy sources by 15 GW it was noted.

He also noted that high-tech power plants with a total capacity of 2500 MW have been built by Japanese companies in the country, and that large Japanese companies were showing great interest in implementing alternative energy projects based on private partnerships.
