At the Uzbek-US business forum as part of the visit of the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the United States, one of the thermal power plants enterprises, Uzbekenergotamir, signed a $60 million contract with General Electric Global Parts and Products, the press service of the TPP said.

This cooperation is aimed at modernizing power units at power plants in Uzbekistan. The US company will also supply new spare parts and restore dismantled ones.

It is expected that during the modernization process, modern highly efficient equipment and advanced technologies will be installed, which will lead to a reduction in production costs by reducing fuel consumption and digitalization of processes, noted Ilkhom Radjabov, General Director of Uzbekenergotamir.

During the negotiations, the parties also agreed that young personnel of Uzbekenergotamir would learn repair and adjustment work from their American colleagues.

Uzbekenergotamir (UzbekEnergoRepair) was founded in 1967 with the purpose of repairing energy equipment at power plants in Central Asia. It includes 9 production sites, 4 production workshops, 2 laboratories (electrical, metalworking and welding), and the total production area is 8 hectares.
