The government of Uzbekistan recommended that governor and mayor offices review utility tariffs. This is provided for by the Cabinet of Ministers’ Sep. 15 resolution on the phased introduction of market mechanisms in the fuel and energy sector.
The Cabinet of Ministers has recommended that the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan, provincial governor and mayor offices and Tashkent set new tariffs for heat supply, water supply and sewerage services, and services for transporting passengers on urban passenger transport (except for taxis).
Meanwhile, it was outlined that prices for heating services for the population will not increase in the current autumn-winter season.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance has been instructed to prevent unjustified price increases when revising tariffs.
The Interdepartmental Tariff Commission under the Cabinet of Ministers has been instructed to review, starting October 1, 2023:
- tariffs for production, transmission, distribution, sale of natural gas and electricity and tariffs for thermal energy production.
- the procedure for distributing funds received for electric and thermal energy, as well as from consumers and wholesale and wholesale resellers for gas;
- tariffs for services for the transportation of goods and passengers and other tariffs on railway transport.
