There is a mudflow risk in the foothills and mountainous areas of Uzbekistan on September 20-22 due to expected heavy rains, Uzhydromet reported.
Mudflows and floods are expected:
- in Tashkent province: Akhangaran, Bostanlyk, Parkent, Pskent, Urtachirchik, Yukorichirchik districts and the cities of Angren and Almalyk;
- in Kashkadarya province: Yakkabag, Dekhkanabad, Chirakchi, Kitab, Shakhrisabz, Kamashi and Guzar districts;
- in Samarkand province: Urgut, Samarkand, Bulungur, Nurabad Kushrabad, Kattagurgan, Payaryk, Jambay and Ishtykhan districts;
- in Jizzakh province: Zaamin, Bakhmal, Gallyaaral, Sharaf-Rashidov, Farish and Yangiabad districts;
- in Namangan province: Papal, Kasansay, Chartak, Chust, Namangan and Yangikurgan districts;
- in Fergana province: Sokh, Shakhimardan, Fergana and Besharyk districts;
- in Andijan province: Andijan, Asaka, Jalakuduk, Kurgantepe, Pakhtaabad, Izbaskan, Khojaabad and Markhamat districts and the city of Khanabad.
Those living in foothill and mountainous areas, vacationers and drivers traveling to mountainous areas are asked to take precautions.
