To date, more than 2,500 cameras and radars have been installed in Uzbekistan to record traffic violations, it was announced at the government meeting chaired by the president.

It was noted that accidents had decreased by 30% in the areas where cameras had been installed due to the speed limit set at 60 km/h.

Shavkat Mirziyoev said that it was necessary to continue these works, to introduce the "smart intersection" and "smart traffic light" control systems more widely.

The speed limit in all cities of Uzbekistan, especially in the centers of districts, was reduced from 70 to 60 km/h starting from April 1, 2023.

Earlier, it was unveiled that 1115 people died in accidents in 7 months of 2023.
