The Development Strategy Center has published a draft Uzbekistan-2030 Strategy for public input. The discussion will last through August 9.

The strategy, aimed at "creating a New Uzbekistan" and designed for seven years, covers 5 areas and 100 goals. It is planned to contribute a total of US$ 252.2 billion for its implementation.

Areas of the Uzbekistan-2030 Strategy:

  • creation of education, healthcare and social protection systems that meet the requirements of the public and international standards (44 goals);
  • ensuring the well-being of the public through sustainable economic growth (17 goals);
  • creation of environmental conditions that are comfortable for the public, including saving water resources (12 goals);
  • creation of a just and modern governance serving the people, ensuring the rule of law (16 goals);
  • further efforts to transform the country into a safe and peaceful state, conducting an open, pragmatic and active foreign policy course, reforms to strengthen the country's security and defense capability (11 goals).

The draft presidential decree on the strategy says that in the new constitutional and legal conditions, Uzbekistan needs to update its main areas of development and upgrade reforms to a new level.

The document states that the implementation and achievement of the targets of the strategy will become a priority task for all state bodies and organizations.
