Uzbekistan will chair the Non-Aligned Movement in 2027-2029, announced the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, speaking at the closing ceremony of the ministerial meeting of the coordinating bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement.

According to him, after Uganda, the chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement will pass to Uzbekistan. Azerbaijan has chaired the movement since 2019.

According to the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, on July 5 in Baku, a delegation headed by Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov attended the ministerial meeting of the coordinating bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement.

Delegations from 93 countries and 11 international organizations were present in the forum. The event discussed regional and global issues, as well as the main areas of the Non-Aligned Movement in the near and long term.

At the conference, the Foreign Minister Saidov expressed gratitude to all members of the Movement for supporting the candidacy of Uzbekistan for the chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement for 2027-2029.
