The concert of the Russian singer Grigory Leps, which was supposed to take place on October 23 at the Palace of Friendship of Peoples in Tashkent, has been canceled.

Later, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Uzbekistan stated that the concert "was postponed for some technical reasons."

Purchased tickets will be refunded.

As reported earlier, a group of activists in Uzbekistan demanded the cancellation of the Z-singer’s concerts, who actively supports Russia's military invasion of Ukraine.

In response to this, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Bakhodir Akhmedov said that there were no limits to any form of arts in Uzbekistan. “They come, they perform and leave,” he said.

He also expressed doubts about reports of Leps financing military operations, although Leps said on July 3 that he kept his promise and had paid 1 million rubles to a Russian soldier who detsroyed a Leopard tank in the war zone in Ukraine.

On Thursday it became known that the concert of Grigory Leps was canceled in the city of Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, it was planned for August 2. The reason was public outcry.

In June, the concert of Grigory Leps was also canceled in Kazakhstan due to the same reason.
