Central Election Commission (CEC) held an early session, dedicated to the preparation and holding of the presidential election in Uzbekistan.

According to the CEC, the meeting discussed the letters received by the commission during the preparation for the presidential election, issues related to the accreditation of observers from international organizations and foreign countries participating in the presidential election, as well as media representatives.

The members of the commission discussed the measures taken in connection with the letters received by the Central Election Commission during the period of preparation for the election.

According to the requests of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a total of 401 observers from OSCE, International Association of Electoral Bodies, CIS, International Fund for Electoral Systems and a number of foreign countries were accredited at the session. While, 42 representatives of local mass media were accredited.

The total number of observers from accredited international organizations and foreign countries participating in the early presidential election of Uzbekistan is 785, and the total number of local and foreign mass media representatives is 1,299.
