Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov today received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic, Violaine Billette de Villemeurt.
The sides discussed prospects for further strengthening and expanding bilateral ties in the political, trade-economic, financial-technical, tourist, cultural and humanitarian areas, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported.
The sides noted that one of the significant outcomes of efforts on attracting the French know-how and investment was the signing on May 16, 2017 between Peugeot Citroen Automobiles S.A. and JSC UzAvtoSanoat of a joint venture agreement to create Uzbekistan Peugeot Citroën Automotive, an equally-owned company that will operate a production plant in the Jizzakh free economic zone,
The sides also exchanged views on the schedule and agenda of the forthcoming Uzbek-French contacts.
