Uzbek Ambassador Jahongir Ganiev met with the President of the Spanish company Patentes Talgo Carlos Palacio Oriol, Dunyo said.

During the meeting, Carlos Palacio Oriol announced it sought to continue cooperation with Uzbekistan and supply more trains in addition to the existing six Talgo-250 train tracks.

Carlos Palasi Oriol underscored that despite the high workload due to a large order of 64 trains for Denmark and Germany, Patentes Talgo is ready to ensure the manufacture and delivery of four Afrosiyob electric trains for Uzbekistan Railways within the set timeframe.

To finance the order, it is planned to attract long-term soft loans from the Spanish Companies Internationalization Fund (FIEM) under the Spanish government.

Earlier in October 2022 it was reported that Uzbekistan Railways had plans to launch eight new services, in connection with which the organization announced an international tender for the purchase of 34 modern electric trains. Then the company was negotiating the renewal of rolling stock with global manufacturers such as Stadler, Skoda, Talgo, Hyundai, CAF, Siemens, Alstom, Hitachi, Pesa and CRRC-Dalian.
