On the sidelines of the 111th session of the International Labor Conference, the delegation of Uzbekistan, which was in Geneva, Switzerland, held meetings with the heads of specialized structures of the ILO and government representatives of a number of countries.

On the next day of the visit, Senate speaker Tanzila Norboeva held talks with US Deputy Secretary of Labor Thea Lee and US Special Representative for International Labor Affairs Kelly Fay Rodriguez.

The parties focused on the bilateral ties in the field of labor relations.

Tea Lee highly appreciated the reforms in the field of labor relations in Uzbekistan and the current level of cooperation with the International Labor Organization. They welcomed that Uzbekistan, the ILO and key member states of the Organization achieved constructive cooperation on ending child labor and forced labor in a short period of time.

During the talks with the Federal Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Germany, Hubertus Heil, the parties focused on the ways to strengthen the social protection system, connecting employment programs with social protection, and implementing new projects on digitalization of these networks.

H. Heil touched on the positive dynamics of bilateral relations and praised the agreements in the field of labor relations, which open a new page in the relations between the two countries. She specifically noted that Germany sought to strengthen economic cooperation by activating labor processes and creating a reliable legal basis for this.

During the meeting with Beate Andrees, ILO's special representative to the UN, the parties discussed the prospects of further expansion of cooperation between ILO Europe and Central Asia Regional Bureau and Uzbekistan.

Beate Andrees emphasized that the constructive cooperation of the regional office with Uzbekistan would be continued. — Through swift achievements, your country occupies an advanced position among the countries of the region. We actually feel that there is a political will in Uzbekistan for more open cooperation with our organization. In this regard, the issue of expanding cooperation will be a priority of the ILO regional representative office, - said B. Andrees.
