Presidential candidate Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his rally in Andijan province mentioned about the development steps of the Uzbek auto industry. He spoke about a large machine-building cluster and specified how much car production would increase.

“Pay attention to one figure: the volume of industrial production of the Asaka district is higher than the industry of 9 provinces of the country. We will invest an additional $1 billion to further develop the automotive industry. Thanks to this, in the next two years, we will increase the production of cars from the current 300,000 units to 500,000 units,” he said.

According to him, by 2030 Uzbekistan will produce 1 million passenger cars annually.

“A large machine-building cluster with the participation of 13 enterprises is also being created in Asaka,” the candidate concluded.

Earlier in April of this year, during his visit to Syrdarya province, Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed to build a new automobile plant in the province.

Later, Akmaljon Mahmudaliyev, the Syrdarya province governor, told that the necessary equipment for a car factory under the Chinese brand Exeed had been delivered to the province.
