First large turbine was installed as part of the wind farm project in Tamdy district of Navoi province. According to the Ministry of Energy, the first 4.7 MW capacity turbine by Goldwind (China) was installed as part of the 500 MW capacity wind farm project in Tamdy district of Navoi province, implemented by the Emirati company Masdar.
The height of this wind turbine is 97 meters, and the length of each blade is 77 meters. In total, 111 more wind turbines will be installed as part of the project.
The first capacities of the wind farm will be commissioned before 2024 and will become the largest wind farm in Central Asia.
At full capacity, the station will produce 1 billion 800 million kWh of electricity annually, which will save 540 million cubic meters of natural gas a year and prevent 720 thousand tons of harmful emissions into the atmosphere.
