Following the high-level talks, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani oversaw the ceremony of signing of 15 bilateral accords aimed at further advancing and deepening trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other areas.
In particular, the following have been adopted:
– Agreement between governments on the mutual encouragement and protection of investments;
– Agreement between governments on the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of tax evasion on income and property;
– Agreement between governments on mutual assistance in customs matters;
– Agreement between governments on cooperation in the field of labor relations;
– Agreement between governments on exemption from visa requirements for holders of diplomatic passports;
– Memorandum between governments on cooperation in the field of higher education and scientific research;
– Memorandum between governments on cooperation in the field of culture;
– Memorandum on trade cooperation;
– Memorandum on cooperation in the field of agriculture and food security;
– Memorandum of cooperation in the field of plant protection and quarantine;
– Memorandum of cooperation in the field of sports and youth support;
- Memorandum of cooperation between the city of Tashkent and the city of Doha.
Cooperation programs were also signed between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Justice for 2023-2025, as well as an Agreement to create a joint platform for financing priority investment projects.
