The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has accepted the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and will pay a state visit to Uzbekistan on June 5-6.
According to the presidential press service, the main events are planned in Samarkand.
During the upcoming talks, the parties will discuss the ways to further develop the Uzbek-Qatari multifaceted relations, in particular, in terms of following the active political contacts and cultural and humanitarian exchange, the implementation of large investment projects in the energy, gas chemical industry, agriculture, infrastructure, logistics, tourism and other industries.
They will also discuss topical issues of international politics and the regional agenda.
The talks will culminate in signing of a package of intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents.
It is noteworthy that the visit of the Emir of Qatar will be the first in more than 25 years of diplomatic relations between the two states.
