Forum of officials of the SCO member states, observers and partners, kicked off, which is dedicated to reducing poverty and ensuring a decent life for people In the Chinese city of Yanlin.
According to UzA, the opening of the forum and the general meeting took place. It is attended by official of countries interested in China's experience not only in the SCO space, but also in Asia and Africa.
The forum is also attended by the Uzbekistan delegation headed by Deputy PM Jamshid Kuchkarov. Speaking at the meeting, Kuchkarov stressed the importance of the forum.
- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev inked important decrees and resolutions to reduce poverty. Interrelated reforms are being implemented, such as vocational training, soft loans and tax cuts, job creation, decent wages, the vice premier said.
- The government contributed 1 billion dollars for these purposes. As a result, 1 million people were lifted out of poverty in 2022 alone.
Jamshid Kuchkarov also made practical proposals at the plenary session.
- The China’s experience of poverty reduction is being offered to all countries, each country is adding something of its own to it. For example, in Uzbekistan, special attention is paid to improving the living conditions of rural residents, creating infrastructure, developing education, healthcare, and expanding opportunities for small businesses. In each mahalla, an institute of Khokim's assistant has been created. Therefore, I propose to create a committee under the SCO that will analyze and promote the experience of poverty reduction, Jamshid Kuchkarov said.
Speaking at the plenary session, Vice Premier of Pakistan Mirza Muhammad Afridi, SCO Secretary General Zhang Ming, Vice Governor of Shanxi Province Wang Xiaochen and others said that poverty reduction was a universal problem and a task of the time, and it was necessary to fight it together.
