On Wednesday, May 24, the provisional winner of the tender for construction and operation of a 300 MW solar PV plant in Guzar district of Kashkadarya province was announced, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reported.

This project is being implemented with the support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) under the "Project Development and Advisory Services Program for the Construction of a 300 MW Solar Photovoltaic Plant" (Phase 2).

The tender was held by the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade, the National Electric Networks, the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Rights Protection.

The project includes the construction of a 300 MW solar photovoltaic plant in Guzar district and an energy storage system (battery) providing 75 MW of power per 1 hour.

The winning investor will design, finance and operate the solar PV plant for 25 years.

As reported earlier, Masdar intends to start construction of three PV plants in Uzbekistan in 2023 - 220 MW Nur Jizzakh in Jizzakh province, 220 MW Nur Samarkand for in Samarkand province and 457 MW Nur Sherabad in Surkhandarya province, for these purposes the company attracted for almost $ 400 million in loans.
