Singaporean President Halimah Yacob has accepted the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and will pay a state visit to Uzbekistan from May 23 to 25, the Singaporean Foreign Ministry said.
Halimah Yakob will also be visiting Kazakhstan from 21 to 23 May. These will be the first state visits of the President of Singapore to Central Asia.
The streets of Tashkent on Monday were today decorated with the flags of Uzbekistan and Singapore.
Halimah Yacob will meet with the President of Uzbekistan at the Kuksaroy Palace and the business leaders from Singapore and Uzbekistan at a joint business forum and visit the Academy of Public Administration.
While, Halimah Yakob will visit Samarkand, where, among other things, she will meet with the governor of Samarkand province Erkinjon Turdimov.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Singapore on January 17 this year. The countries agreed on cooperation in five areas, the creation of a $500 million investment company, and signed $5 billion worth of deals.
