At the fourth congress of Kamolot Public Youth Movement on Friday in which President Shavkat Mirziyoyev made an address, it was decided to reorganize Kamolot into Youth’s Union of Uzbekistan, Akhborot reported.

The Kamolot movement was founded in 2001, and, it  has accomplished a lot over the years, but it's time to sum up and pay attention to the drawbacks, Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted.

"The movement is nowadays taking on too little responsibility, – he said, and we will change this. After all, the main goal is not to criticize, but to notice the problem on time and fix it.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev underscored, we, as adults must understand the whole responsibility before future generations, and it important to revise, if necessary, the education and training program, the activities of the movement.

"I talked a lot with young people before I came to this decision, the President's said. - An absolutely new organization will be created, with a new charter, new rules, work methods. The Union will participate in the life of the country. What we expect from is new ideas, initiatives, knowledge, a new vision for reforms, and further development of the country. "

We have long been battling with the outdated system, which in fact fails to deal with many current realities. It's time to give a voice to the youth, to those who are eager to improve lives, the President added.

Kakhramon Kuranbayev has been elected Chairman of the Central Council of the Youth Union of Uzbekistan, who previously served as the Deputy State Adviser to the President on organizational and personnel matters. Prior to that, he was the first deputy chairman of the National Television Company and the head of the National Center for the Propaganda of Spirituality.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed to announce June 30 as the Youth Day in Uzbekistan and to establish a number of state awards and titles to young people who made a worthy contribution to the development of various spheres.
