On May 16, at a meeting of the Kyrgyz parliamentary committee of law and order, combating crime and corruption, MP Jenishbek Toktorbaev presented a bill aimed at eradicating corruption in the civil service.
According to the bill proposed to ban a person convicted of corruption and other crimes against the interests of the state and municipal service of becoming province governor, a city mayor, head of local government, deputy of local deputy councils, state civil and municipal employees, if he even has an expired conviction, 24 .kg reported.
It also proposed that the position should not be held by persons convicted under the articles: “corruption”, “illegal enrichment”, “abuse of official position”, “extortion of a bribe”, “mediation in extortion of a bribe”, “negligence” of the Criminal Code and so on.
During the meeting, Ruslanbek Zhakyshov said that his colleague had submitted the necessary bill.
According to him, those who at one time destroyed factories, engaged in acts of corruption, today consider themselves the elite. According to him, now these people are sitting in high positions.
“Their sons and grandchildren occupy civil positions. Such people should be punished mercilessly. Not only they, but their children should not hold public office. As in China, you need to cut off their hands, fingers with an ax, we need such a law. Thieves now consider themselves an elite,” Ruslanbek Zhakyshov said.
