China Visa Center has opened in Tashkent, the press service of the Chinese embassy said in a statement. From May 16, 2023, applicants with passports of Uzbekistan and other countries must apply to the visa center to obtain a Chinese visa (including a Hong Kong visa), the statement said.
To apply for a visa From May 16, it will be required to fill out a visa application form and get an appointment online through the website of the visa center. Applications without appointment will not be accepted.
Apart from the visa fee, the Visa Application Center will charge a service fee on behalf of the Chinese Embassy for fast-track visa processing in Uzbekistan.
The Visa Center will reportedly not involved in the process of considering a visa application. It is the staff of the consular department of the embassy which will decide on the issuance of a visa.
Consular officers may require additional supporting documents from the applicant or conduct an interview with the applicant.
“Apart from the Visa Application Center, the Chinese Embassy in Uzbekistan has not instructed other institutions or individuals to provide services for accepting visa applications. If you have any doubts, contact the embassy,” the diplomatic mission concluded.
