Deputy Minister of Natural Resources Zhusipbek Kazbekov hosted the Deputy Regional Director for Asia and Head of the Department for Developing Countries of the Global Green Growth Institute Jason Lee, Dunyo reported.
GGGI supports the development and updating of policies to create an enabling environment for green investment. These efforts will be synchronized with the country's national goals and priorities for the transition to a green economy. Currently, the only office of the Global Green Growth Institute in Central Asia is open in Uzbekistan and operates in a building in the Ministry of Natural Resources.
During the meeting, Minister Kazbekov was briefed on the new 3-year program of the Green Climate Fund (Green Climate Fund), as well as issues of accreditation of GCF projects and issues of effective implementation of the Aral Sea GRIP program were discussed. In addition, attention was paid to the forestry and waste management sectors.
At the end of meeting, the parties also decided on areas for further cooperation.
